Department of Planning and Permitting Public Hearing Announcement

The Department of Planning and Permitting will host a public hearing for a request for a variance of the Land Use Ordinance

Date: Thursday, August 21, 2014

Time: 1:30 p.m.

Place: Mission Memorial Conference Room, Mission Memorial Building, 550 S. King Street, Honolulu

Landowner: David Akina, Trustee et al.

Location: 4.708 acres covering 87-238, 87-260 and 87-264 Hakimo Road – Waianae

Zoning: AG-2 General Agricultural District

Variance Request: A variance to allow subdivision of the 4.708 lot in the AG-2 General Agricultural District into two confirming lots containing 2.0 acres of land area, and one lot containing 0.708 acres of land area, which lacks the minimum 2.0-acre land area; or to allow three farm dwellings on Lot 3, which exceeds the maximum permitted number of farm dwelling on the 4.708-acre zoning lot.

Specific sections of the code to be varied may be obtained by calling the Department of Planning and Permitting at 768-8025. All interested parties are invited to attend. Those persons desiring to testify may register prior to the public hearing at the public hearing site and are encouraged to submit one copy of their testimony in writing.

Attendance at the public hearing is not necessary to submit testimony. Written testimony may be faxed (768-6743) or mailed (650 S. King Street, 7th Floor, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813) to the department prior to the hearing and will be considered in the evaluation of the request.
