HONOLULU —The Honolulu City Council passed an expansion of sit-lie law beyond Waikiki on Friday.

The council passed Bill 48 by a vote of 7-2.

Fifteen new zones were added across Oahu. Mayor Kirk Caldwell has 10 days to decide on bill. He says he wants to sign the bill, but it needs to be reviewed by city attorneys.

The council has the six votes to override any veto.
