$3 million in infrastructure upgrades in West Oahu’s Kalaeloa moves forward

A $3 million upgrade to the electrical and communication distribution system within a corridor along the eastern boundary of Kalaeloa in West Oahu, which has long suffered from infrastructure issues, is moving ahead after receiving a key environmental approval.

The Kalaeloa East Energy Corridor will get upgrades that include replacing the existing U.S. Navy distribution lines with new Hawaiian Electric Co. lines, as well as an extension of the system.
