Join story creator Kumu Hina Wong-Kalu and directors Dean Hamer and Joe Wilson, for a screening of, and conversation about, “A Place in the Middle” – this film tells the true-life story of a young Hawaiian girl who dreams of leading her school’s boys-only hula troupe, and an inspiring teacher who uses traditional culture to empower her. The one-hour program is suitable for students, parents, and educators interested in Hawaiian culture. Free DVDs and teaching guides available for attendees after.
