Yesterday, the Committee on Zoning and Planning held a public hearing where supporters and opponents discussed the pros and cons of allowing residents to build an accessory unit on their properties. The bill has unit-size, parking and rental restrictions in place to ensure the units will fit into the fabric of our neighborhoods on Oahu. After much deliberation, the Committee voted to hold the bill in committee and schedule another hearing to gather more public comments on the measure.
