WHEREAS, FarmLovers Farmers’ Market has established itself as O‘ahu’s Premiere Green Markets – a business incubator for small farmers, food manufacturers and artisans, by creating a supportive and nurturing environment, which will cultivate economic growth, community health, and cultural awareness; and
WHEREAS, FarmLovers Farmers’ Market is dedicated to the local grower by not allowing any produce from the mainland, China or elsewhere to be sold at their market. Creating and utilizing more sustainable agricultural land is a commitment FarmLovers Farmers’ Market believes in, and that more lands will be made available to the small farmer through supporting local agriculture and the local economy; and
WHEREAS, FarmLovers Farmers’ Market will open its doors of its second store in Kapolei on October 26, 2016, at the brand new retail shopping complex known as Ka Makana Alii (meaning “The Royal Gift” in Hawaiian) and provide an abundance of fresh local produce to serve the community; and
WHEREAS, FarmLovers Farmers’ Market will treat the shoppers to a new source of healthy choices by showcasing over 40 booths in a market plaza setting overflowing with Oahu’s finest local produce and locally-inspired artisan foods, such as fresh Poke, delicious sweet or savory crepes, fresh-fruit slushies, tasty Thai food, Middle Eastern Shwarma, warm asparagus or mushroom croissants, and a vast array of delicious treat & eats; and
WHEREAS, young and old will delight in the grand opening festivities while relaxing near the coconut grove watching hula dancers and listening to the astonishing sounds of Keanu Boom Kanani Band throughout the event. Shoppers will fill their own bags with this week’s harvest of fresh produce from FarmLovers Farmers’ Market’s favorite farmers and ranchers. Giveaways, contests, and free bags to the first 500 customers to fill up with everything from cheese and eggs, to exotic tropical in-season fruits, to lettuce, kale, chard, carrots, herbs, beans, tomatoes, squash, cucumbers and many more locally grown veggies, to honey, and coffee; NOW, THEREFORE,
