Firefighters ascend mountains to stop blaze

A conflagration that began in Makakilo three weeks ago is 95% contained

Honolulu firefighters have hiked to the 2,200-foot elevation of the Waianae Mountains carrying water in backpacks and using hand tools to dig up and extinguish smoldering hot spots from a stubborn brush fire.
