WHEREAS, HomeWorld has set the standard of home furniture shopping in Hawaii since 1994. Positioned as Hawaii’s furniture destination, HomeWorld is the largest furniture division of its parent company, C. S. Wo & Sons, Ltd.; and
WHEREAS, for 100 years, locally owned Hawaii parent company C. S. Wo & Sons have continued the tradition of transforming people’s lives as their grandfather and founder Ching Sing Wo once did by turning his humble general store into a furniture store in 1909. The third generation of sons have expanded the company into a conglomeration of top name brands to include HomeWorld Furniture, SlumberWorld, Ashley HomeStore, and Red Knot in five Hawaii locations: two on Oahu, one on Maui, and two on the Big Island, and one California location; and
WHEREAS, besides offering consumers brand name furniture, bedding, and accessories from around the world, customers are blessed with complimentary professional design services to include music, aromas, and dramatic accents to help turn their home into a living, nurturing sanctuary that flexibly changes with their dreams; and
WHEREAS, with the growth of business, every Wo generation has kept the tradition of supporting nonprofit organizations throughout the community. New store openings and special in-store events customarily benefit local artists, arts, and human service institutions. Family members also offer their personal time and business expertise serving on various community boards; and
WHEREAS, C. S. Wo & Sons will celebrate the grand opening of HomeWorld’s 60,000 square-foot building right in fastest growing area on O‘ahu known as the Second City in Kapolei. It is home to HomeWorld, SlumberWorld, Red Knot, and Ashley Homestore with a photovoltaic system and energy efficient LED lighting system; NOW, THEREFORE,
