HONOLULU AIRPORT TRAVELERS ADVISED TO USE INTERNATIONAL PARKING STRUCTURE DURING CONSTRUCTION
HONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) Airports Division advises motorists of modified and limited parking in the Overseas Parking Structure (Lot D) at the Honolulu International Airport due to construction for the interim and permanent Consolidated Rental Car Facility.
Travelers are advised to use the International Parking Structure (Lot A) located between the Overseas Parking Structure and the Inter-Island Parking Structure. Access is from the ground level at the Inter-Island Parking Structure. The International Parking Structure is also accessible from the top level of the Inter-Island Parking Structure. As these lots are farther from the main terminal travelers are advised to allow for additional walking time to the ticket lobbies. http://hawaii.gov/hnl/airport-parking/lot-a-international-terminal.
During construction access to the Overseas Parking Structure will be from the departures (upper) level only. Ground level access is unavailable. In preparation for the new facility, floors 1- 4 of the Diamond Head (east) side and the first floor of the Ewa (west) side of the Overseas Parking Structure will be closed. The 5th floor will remain available for assigned employee parking.
These changes are necessary as the HDOT works to improve and modernize the Honolulu International Airport. An interim rental car facility is being built in the Diamond Head side of the Overseas Parking Structure. Once completed, airport rental car agencies will move into the temporary structure as the permanent Consolidated Rental Car Facility is built on area that the rental car agencies now occupy.
The interim and permanent Consolidated Rental Car Facility projects are part of a series of New Day Work Projects at the Honolulu International Airport that will modernize and improve the traveler experience. For more information on the projects visit http://www.hawaiiairportsmodernization.com/3/honolulu-international-airport.
Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation as we make improvements to the Honolulu International Airport.
