The head of Honolulu’s planning department thinks Kalaeloa in West Oahu could be developed into a small airport town with aerospace jobs and related-businesses.
“It has great potential to become a neat thing,” George Atta, director of planning and permitting for the City and County of Honolulu, told PBN. “It has features like the beach and an old historical airfield. I think the runway should stay active and I think we need a reliever airport and keep that as a potential reliever airport.
