Kapolei City Lights

Kapolei – The annual Kapolei City Lights holiday celebration will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016, featuring live entertainment, food trucks, a tree lighting ceremony, and the West O‘ahu Electric Light Parade.

Kapolei City Lights is held on Ulu‘ōhi‘a Street fronting Kapolei Hale. Sean Na‘auao tops the list of local performers that includes Kaiao, Ahi Wela, Brown Bags to Stardom winners, hula hālau, and other entertainers. Themed displays and lights decorate the grounds and exterior of Kapolei Hale, and everyone is invited inside for the colorful community and city department tree exhibit.

The West O‘ahu Electric Light Parade will take a new route this year. The parade marches west on Kapolei Parkway from Fort Barrett Road to Kealakapu Street. The parade features bands, marching units, and illuminated vehicles decorated for the season. A selection of participating vehicles will park on ‘Alohikea Street for viewing and picture taking after the parade.

The City and County of Honolulu and Hawai‘i Maoli are presenting Kapolei City Lights, which continues to attract residents to the local-style street festival.

Event Schedule:

4 p.m. – Food trucks and vendors open
4 p.m. – Kapolei Hale tree and wreath exhibit
5 p.m. – Entertainment begins and continues through 9 p.m.
6 p.m. – Parade on Kapolei Parkway begins at Ft. Barrett Road
7 p.m. – Tree lighting ceremony
