This position is located in the Service Shop Group, Operations Department, located at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The purpose of this position is to assist journeyman painters by supplying tools and work materials, to preparing surfaces for painting, and sandblasting operations.

Must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal & Regulatory Guidance.
Suitable for Federal employment as determined by background investigation.
Selectee may be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
You must obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
Relocation expenses are NOT authorized.

DUTIES:
Duties of a Painter Helper may include but are not limited to the following:

· Assisting journey level painters in mixing paints and other surface materials by adding thinner, pigments and catalyzing materials.
· Setting up, operating and utilizing sandblasting equipment to remove paint, scale, rust and other surface imperfections from the hull and tanks of ships.
· Reporting obvious hazards, malfunctioning equipment, damaged materials, and other situations that may impact work operations or the safety of others.
· Working as part of a small group under general supervision from the Painter in charge, carrying out routine assignments.

REQUIREMENTS:
