Mayor Kirk Caldwell provided a parks update on 1/7/2016 on the City’s “E Paka Kakou” initiative to refurbish parks across the island.

As of Wednesday, the city has renovated 22 comfort stations and 10 sets of playground equipment.

Councilmember Kymberly Marcos Pine’s Adopt-a-Park efforts seek to ease the process for community groups and organizations seeking to adopt and make major capital improvements to our parks.

Councilwoman Kymberly Pine, chair of the Council Parks Committee, said she’s happy with the progress of the initiative and the news that Caldwell intends to put in another $2 million in next year’s budget
