Sneak Peek: The Queen’s Medical Center West Oahu ready to open

The Queen’s Medical Center West Oahu is wrapping up final touches and conducting practice medical scenarios among staff in preparation for its May 20 grand opening.

The new five-story facility, which used to be the old Hawaii Medical Center West, broke ground last April by contractor dck pacific construction LLC. The exterior of the building looks similar to the old facility, but the interior has been completely gutted. The Queen’s Health Systems spent a total of about $70 million acquiring the hospital from St. Francis Healthcare System of Hawaii and then renovating and expanding it.
