COMMUNITY CARE WORKER

Needed: Two full time
Location: LDAH office in Waianae

The School Readiness Project (SRP) Community Care Worker will outreach to connect with parents of children ages two through five years old on the Waianae Coast to provide comprehensive early childhood screenings; to connect families with their medical home; to provide case management and parent trainings, all to ensure that children enter kindergarten ready to learn.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Some college preferred; understanding of children and children with special needs, some experience in public health or related fields preferred. Work and personal experience in nonprofit; providing screenings, assessments, case-management, outreach or work with small children, families, and experience in the target area.

Time management and organizational skills, ability to implement and complete tasks and assignments by deadlines are a must. Driver’s license and 3 years of clean driving abstract required; able to drive 15-seat mini-bus. Good oral and written communication skills are a must. Familiarity with social, cultural, geographic and economic characteristics of Waianae-Nanakuli is very important. Experience working with families and young children, knowledge of hearing, vision and developmental screenings and assessments is preferred. Experience giving public presentations to small groups is required. Viable candidates must be able to work independently and as part of the team, be adaptable to change, demonstrate tremendous initiative, and be ready for a challenging and rewarding experience.

The 3rd Annual Job and Career Fair will also feature a networking opportunity for businesses and organizations who may not have immediate job openings but would like to share future career opportunities with attendees.

 

The Hire Leeward initiative is a five – year plan with the following goals:

1. Encourage Leeward residents to seek Leeward jobs.

2. Reduce traffic congestion to town.

3. Encourage better coordination with Leeward job employers and job seekers.

4. Encourage Leeward residents to buy from Leeward companies.

5. Hold job training events.

6. Improve the quality of life for Leeward residents.

Responsibilities
As an integral part of the sales “value chain”, Operation Assistants play an important role in the day to day operations of the sales process. Operation assistants hold a wide range of responsibilities which include: interacting and assisting prospective and current Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Members; maintaining multiple departmental databases; manage and distribute the daily incentives and conduct tours of the DVC accommodations for prospective and current members of DVC. May also be responsible for transporting guests to and from the Open House, along with DVC Van maintenance including washing and fueling. The Operation Assistant will also provide support to all areas of Disney Vacation Club including our satellite sales locations located in Waikiki. The successful candidate is expected to be: Accountable, Adaptable to change, Professional, a Team Player, Confident, and Influential.
Basic Qualifications
High school degree or equivalent
Demonstrated background working in an operational environment
Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills
Demonstrated strong partnering skills
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, as well as telephone etiquette skills
Demonstrated strong guest service skills
Demonstrated computer proficiency in a windows environment with an emphasis on Microsoft applications Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Microsoft publisher.

Scope of Job:

The Distribution Center Lift Truck Operator / CDL A Driver is responsible for all functions requiring Material Handling Equipment to include but not limited to: loading and unloading of all inbound and outbound vehicles containing finished goods, raw materials, supplies and/or ingredients. To stow these as directed mechanically or verbally. To move in house orders as directed mechanically or verbally. To pick outbound or in house orders as directed mechanically or verbally and place as directed. Additionally, to use auxiliary equipment like the stretch wrapping machine and mechanical dock levelers, etc. This is to be accomplished in a safe manner that protects other personnel, equipment, product and other assets of the company. To report or correct any usage or unsanitary acts or conditions while observing all safety and sanitary conditions as outlined in the “Employee Handbook” and training courses. To record all product moves in the Matrics System either manually or with RF scanning equipment.

In addition, this position requires a CDL A license to perform as needed relief coverage for Delivery Routes. Candidates should be able to support a flexible work schedule including weekend work.

Job Responsibilities:

Production:
Directly responsible for moving and recording pallets as directed by the Matrics System verifying the validity of the move. Pallet movement includes but is not limited to: cooler/dry to truck, cooler/dry to pick area, case pick area, pick staging area, storage racks.
Load vehicles safely while adhering to sanitary procedures and as directed by Matrics, verifying that the loading is done with correct weight dispersion.
To unload vehicles safely and adhering to sanitary procedures and stowing product, material, supplies or ingredients as directed by Matrics.
Pick pallets as directed by Matrics verifying proper weight dispersal on pallet.
Perform back-up duties as designated by the floor lead or supervisor.
Perform other duties as directed by the floor lead or supervisor.
To assist in other areas as directed for product counts (Cycle Counting) or quality checks.
Operate equipment in a safe manner and report or correct any unsafe acts or conditions observed.
Ensure all sanitation procedures are followed and report or correct issues immediately.
Segregate and recoup damage or move it to the appropriate area as per Matrics and record all moves in Matrics.
Responsible for completion of “Daily Operator Checklist” of all equipment used during the shift.
Responsible for reporting any and all malfunctions, noises, etc. to floor lead or supervisor for inspection and/or repair.
Record all products moves in the Matrics System either manually or with RF scanning equipment.
Record accurately and in timely manner the receipt of all pallets shipped to the distribution center.
Provide CDL A Driver route coverage when necessary at the direction of floor lead or supervisor
Maintenance:
Check fork trucks for safety defects.
Must be able to perform minor mechanical adjustments, such as changing the battery and adjusting the forks.
Quality:
Replace all damaged cases on loads.
Responsible for knowing the bays and UPC Codes.
Qualifications

Physical Requirements:
Required to perform job duties efficiently and safely.
Personal appearance and cleanliness in accordance with Good Manufacturing Processes.
Must be alert at all times and possess the ability to think and act quickly.
Must be able to repeatedly lift 50 pounds.
Must be able to stand for 10 hours.

Working Conditions:

Moderate – As noise levels are below 90 decibels, no hearing protection is required. The cooler and dock temperatures vary from 40 – 55 degrees F. Dry storage is maintained as 75 degrees F. The office is maintained at a comfortable level.

Training:

This individual must be trained and licensed to operate forklift and other material handling equipment safely. In addition, they must be able to operate Matrics accurately.

Candidates must possess a valid CDL A license.
