But big, as coach Darren Hernandez concedes, is a good place to start when it comes to the Hurricanes’ offensive line. And it’s this gigantic line that will either propel Kapolei to success or leave the team short of its goals of a first OIA championship…

Images at War’s End

The Battleship Missouri Memorial, in collaboration with Kapolei High School, presents a photo display of images and memorabilia from the USS Missouri. The Images at War’s End exhibit will provide rare photographic perspectives from the end of World War II in Asia and the Pacific Islands. The photographs were selected from among tens of thousands of images in the collections of the National Archives at College Park, Maryland, largely unseen images taken by US Navy and Army Signal Corps photographers during the weeks and months surrounding the end of World War II.

The exhibit will also include a series of unedited, soundless, documentary film recordings taken aboard the USS Missouri as World War II was concluded in formal ceremony on September 2, 1945 in Tokyo Bay.

Opening: Saturday, December 21, 2013
Exhibit on display through February 22, 2014
Kapolei Public Library: 1020 Manawai St.
