TRAFFIC REMINDER: NIGHTTIME H-1 FREEWAY WESTBOUND LANE CLOSURES, PEARL CITY TO WAIPAHU THIS WEEK

HONOLULU – The state Department of Transportation reminds Oahu motorists that three right lanes will be closed on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Pearl City/Waimalu Off-Ramp (Exit 10) and the Waipahu Off-Ramp (Exit 8B) on Tuesday night, May 27, through Friday morning, May 30, from 7:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., nightly. A fourth lane will be closed at 10:30 p.m. and all lanes will reopen at 4:30 a.m., nightly.

Work crews will be utilizing a heavy construction crane to lift three support girders into position, necessary for the viaduct deck widening. Similar work is expected in mid-June.

The Honolulu Rail Transit project will also be closing two westbound lanes and one eastbound lane along Kamehameha Highway between Kuleana Road and Kuala Street on Tuesday night, May 27, through Friday morning, May 30, from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m., nightly, for utility relocation and excavation work.

Westbound motorists can use Moanalua Road as an alternate route and are advised to adjust their commute times, expect delays and travel safely through work zones #WZAM
