Makakiloweeds

Constituents have been calling Councilmember Pine’s office to express their concern about the overgrown grass and weeds along the Makakilo Drive median strip.  Concern has also been raised about the dry, dead patches in between the grass and weeds.  In addition to being an eyesore, the tall grass is creating a safety concern for drivers.

Our office contacted the Department of Facilities Maintenance which is in charge of the median strip to ask if the area could be maintained on a more frequent basis.  The current maintenance schedule is for the grass to be cut every 8-10 weeks; we are working with the various departments to try find solutions to the maintenance schedule and the much-needed sprinkler repairs and        adjustments.
